Prowess has been around since 2002. We started as the National Association for the Promotion of Women’s Enterprise, and over the years we became something bigger: the place people in this country turn to when it comes to women in business.
We’re proud of where we’ve been. The UK Government asked us to help write Britain’s first national strategy for women’s enterprise. Parliament has referred to us, on the record, as the UK’s advocacy network for women in enterprise. Wikipedia lists us among the initiatives that shaped women’s business ownership in the UK. We built Europe’s first quality standard for women-friendly business support. And at our height, more than 350 organisations worked under our name, together supporting over 100,000 women in business. Very few names in this space can say the same. That history is why people trust what we publish, and it’s the standard we hold ourselves to every day.
We believe in women who build.
We believe a woman starting a business is one of the most powerful things in the economy, and that when she succeeds, everyone around her rises too. Her family, her team, her community, and the next woman watching and thinking maybe I can do this as well.
We believe in real ambition and real scale. Women are ready to build big, lead boldly and take their place at the table, and our job is to give them everything they need to get there: the information, the numbers, the real examples, and the confidence that comes from seeing other women do it first.
We believe the best is still ahead. For the women we write about, for the women reading, and for whatever they go on to build next.
