Do you want to stay motivated, focused and supported as you get your business started or growing? Flourish – the Start-up Club for Women is designed to help you do just that. It launches in Norwich in a few weeks. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 24 February. Click here to apply: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/flourishnow
What’s involved?
Flourish is designed to help women stay motivated and focused during the critical early stage of their business development. There will be 4 monthly workshops and master-learning sessions, challenges, a facilitated online group and a re-union event.
The sessions will be held on Friday mornings at UEA. They’ll include a short skills session, networking and our special master-learning groups, where you’ll be able to work on your own business issues with others in a similar position.
Who is it for?
Flourish is for women – of all ages, backgrounds and business sectors – looking to start a business or those in the early stages of establishing their venture. Mutual learning and support is a key element of Flourish and a mix of people at different stages of start-up will enrich that. We are restricting the group to 20 people.
What’s the cost?
Thanks to the support of Norwich City Council and UEA we are able to keep the cost very low at £75 per person. We are also able to offer a number of bursaries (please complete the relevant part of the application). There are also a limited number of free places for UEA students or recent graduates (subject to a refundable deposit of £50). We also need all applicants to commit to their own learning and supporting others. Ie.
- You will attend at least 4/5 events
- You will participate in the group Facebook group.
- You’ll take part in the challenges (they’ll all be achieve-able and aimed at stretching you and your business).
- You’ll complete project surveys and feedback forms. (so we can continually improve and raise funds to offer the programme to more women).
Our track record
Flourish is led by a team of award-winning, entrepreneurial and accredited business coaches; Erika Watson, Finbarr Carter and Anne Francis. We piloted Flourish last year. Evaluations were outstanding, every session rated excellent.
Here are some comments from those who took part:
“I was thrilled to have to opportunity to join the Flourish group following and wasn’t disappointed. The sessions were well-planned, covering useful topics for fledgling entrepreneurs in a variety of different ways. Most useful of all, were the Master-learning Groups. These were disciplined, well-structured groups which enabled Flourish participants to pool their knowledge, offer suggestions for solutions to problems and issues, and left the recipient of this warm advice and input feeling nourished and inspired, with tactics to move forward. I can’t recommend Flourish highly enough.”
– Margaret Johnson, WriteUP
“Flourish gave me the confidence to work through my uncertainties and move my business forward. I would definitely recommend Flourish; supportive and friendly, enlightening and illuminating, and an excellent opportunity to acquire more business knowledge and skills to help you and your Business flourish.”
– Pat Sodey, Early years music specialist and composer.
